Default 996 TT SLAVE CYLINDER FAILURE?

NEW to Rennlist and Porsche ownership. My clutch pedal recently went STRAIGHT to the floor and did not reset. I can pull the clutch pedal back by hand but engine clutch inoperable. Slave cylinder failure? If so, does one always replace with the BBi Autosport Clutch Slave Cylinder Upgrade kit and how much does that cost? I could only find the part - not the cost. If being done by an independent Porsche-certified mechanic how many hours to install? Any other thoughts welcome.

Is there a puddle of pentosin under the car? If there is, check your clutch and power steering reservoirs. If they are good then there is a possibility that your clutch diaphragm spring has broken.

The part is about $1100 and install about 4-6 hours depending on shop.

You can sometimes use a strap wrench like this on the accumulator.

This is the diy for the regular 996 turbo slave. If you upgrade to GT2 what do you do with the power steering hoses?

I replaced mine not too long ago and all in all it took 4-6 hours to do the slave cylinder and the accumulator. Parts were around 500 bones.

380 for the slave.

127 for the accumulator

Factory GT2 is larger job with more labor. Do the Google

For reference, I just had the accumulator and slave cylinder replaced on my 2003 Turbo by an indy shop for $1,500.
