Any one here from Central FL (POLK)?
Hi, I'm new to the forum and just purchased a 996TT
I'm not really a fanatic, but out of all the Porsche's out there the look of the 996 is my favorite.
Just bought a 996TT 60k miles , black ext and tan interior for about 25k
Put about 10k into repairs (Master slave, CV, bearing, tires, spoiler replacement, maf sensor) this was a deal struck to replace current parts with OEM parts post sale at my expense)
I'd like to keep it as stock as possible, until OEM parts start to go out, as I'm more interested in longevity rather than speed (its fast enough already)
Its been serviced by a master technician at a dealership in miami that chose to charge me close to 1k for a MAFS replacement...
So for 2 years those parts are warranted.
So my question is this, does anyone know a very reputable aftermarket or independent shop that wont tell me that the engine needs to be dropped and inspected?
Or do they have good reason to drop and inspect the engine (The dealership that it was taken to didn't ask to drop the engine)
I've literally had the car a week to date after all repairs, after a 300 mile drive from miami the CEL is back on, this is the same day i got the car back from the shop. Is there a chance the dealer I took the car to may have missed something? as codes p1128 and p1130 are showing with a CEL? (From all the lurking I've been doing its pointing towards the MAFS, PSM and ABS has flashed on once and gone away after restarting).
Any help would be appreciated, tia.

Try cleaning the MAF and check for a good fit on your oil cap as well as all intake connections after the MAF.
