I switched to Motul X-Cess to try something new after people were saying Shell Rotella changed formulas for the worse (and it felt weird to know I was using a diesel engine oil). I know I hear a little more of that ticking/mechanical noise from the engine bay that the Rotella quieted down better until it wore thin. I forget what the noise actually is but is normal.
