Rent a trailer to go to track?
We need a trailer to go to a remote track twice a year. (For the near by tracks we just drive two cars.) It doesn't seem to make sense to buy a trailer and find a storage place for it all year long just to use it for 2-3 weekends.
Are there companies that rent trailers in the NJ/NY area that we can use?
I tried the U-haul website and it says 911's are too low for their car trailer. Anybody has any experience with U-haul?
Any other solutions?

I used to rent their open trailer:
In has built on tie downs for the front wheels, however, they come off imo. I use four of these:
You can get a 4-pack of those at Home Depot.
I tie each wheel down; the car does not move....

ps. I now have my own enclosed trailer but the U-Hauls worked fine...

Thanks Roy.
The U-haul manual says you have to put the heavy part of the car up front. Did you back the 911 up the ramp so the engine can be in front or it's not necessary?
How long the 2x6 boards did you use?
Also did you get any extra insurance for the sports car when you move it?
Thanks again.

Shan,
I did not back the 911 up, I did not know that the heavy part was to go up front. At the time I towed with a Suburban and had no problems... The trailer did not feel light while driving and I did not have any "bouncing" problems due to light or heavy tongue weight...
I don't remember how long they were unless they are the ones I still have The ones I use now are about 3 feet long.
My insurance (USAA) covers the trailer when it is hooked to the car. The car was covered on its own policy...

FWIW, I don't think any company rents enclosed trailers - at least not in the LA area. I spent a whole afternoon calling around and I came up empty.
Uhaul equipment has a real bad rep around here (several news stories have documented how unsafe the rentals are), so I'm not sure I want to trust my $100K+ car on a $20 a day rental trailer.
