Bolt length for BBS E88?
I had a rear stud failure last event, went to torque wheels before a 2nd track day and with no pressure, the nut and stud came off in my hands sheared at the hub. These were from Stable Energies (not sure who makes them, APEX?). Had about 12 hours of light DE use on them from last season after I installed them. Not pleased.
In any case, I am done with studs and monkeying around with my car and my safety.
Does anyone know if the stock length OE bolts are sufficient length for BBS E88 centers? I have not measured yet, but if I need longer bolts, I need to quickly get a set ordered.
Thanks in advance for the input!

1 what studs and nuts you used? they shouldn't fail that quickly
2 wheel bolts also fail
3 it depends on which BBS E88 center you have. they are not all equal thickness
4. OEM only has two length of bolts. i do not know if the longer one works on your E88

> yeah, that's pretty lousy. They are from Stable, I think they are APEX but will confirm. These are the black bullnose.
>> they do, but nowhere as pervasively as all the stud shearing issues reported here.
>>> centers are 0288120 and 0288108. I guess I'll have to measure and see.
>>> got it - will measure and check how the flange differs from stock.

yeah there are a couple different center thicknesses.
the sets I have are drilled to OEM mount pad thickness
but some are thicker and need much longer studs or nuts
My center #'s are different than yours...

My BBS E88 require 82 mm bolts tip to tip. I don't know the part #s. They are an older design
I've had a few Apex studs break, and stopped using them. One buggered the wheels carrier, and could not be repaired. Try MSI. Have used those successfully for years, never a problem. Recommend changing them every 3 years.

Thanks guys.
I was able to compare/measure the bolt depth on the stock wheels to my BBS centers, I am OK as is - within 1 or 2mm.

Does the BBS rims have a R14 seat for the bolt? This is Porsche standard.
May need to call BBS to confirm.
If not, need to buy conical shaped bolts or buy studs and nuts. Nut must match rim seat.
