Default GT3 engine with 381HP

Sorry guys,

But i need some advice.
The original plan was to build an GT3 engine into an 964 convertible. This was the plan with the mechanic, but now 3 years later the engine isnt build in and i havent been driving for 3 years. So i was thinking that maybe the mechanic overplayed his hands. So i was thinking of maybe selling the engine and buy an 993 engine, tune it an litle bit and then i can drive again.

So mine question is what is the value of an GT3 engine with 40.000 km.

regards
marco

If it's complete w good leakdown numbers, I think it's around 25-30. I know a few cars that a gt3 transplant could go in if sold for less than 15.

All thnx for the replys now i have an idea about the price. With some luck i found an 993 engine that is maybe going to be sold.

Then i wil go for air instead of water, less HP but an quicker build.

Marco

I'm very familiar with a 996 GT3 engine conversion into a 996. Blunt answer: It's a pain in the ***.
Wiring harness is different, engine mounts are different and you need to make room for the gearbox and oil tank.

Cheaper to order a "Cup" engine from SSF.

Good luck!

The engine that i was hoping for isnt going to be sold. But i decided to sell this engine. I found an engine by an porsche dismantler here in Holland.
In the states and in Holland they sell an GT3 engine with 381 HP for $/€ 25.000 that is an lot of money, I know that is an selling price but wow a lot of money.

regards,
Marco
