WTB: 996 GT2 OEM shocks/struts
#2
If I had known a few days earlier I would've had some for you

not sure if you NEED GT2 dampers, but FWIW, besides some internal valving differences, GT3 struts/shocks are identical

Does it make sense to upgrade (for example) to Ohlins Road and Track if you are already using 996 GT2 dampers?? or i will be expecting similar outcomes.. with the exception of adjustability.

I have the Ohlins on my GT2, great upgrade and am glad I went that route, they are ~double the stock spring rate and except for large, low speed bumps, have far greater compliance and control, backroads are bliss and they work on track too ...stock GT coilovers are still a decent package overall though, installing my stock set on my dad's 996TT

993GT thanks for the feedback, I have the OEM Coilovers units on my 996 GT2. Last Year i sent them to Elephant Racing for a full refresh (new bump stops, oil, etc) and they are awesome from a factory performance perspective.
However I've been tempted multiple times to do the upgrade to OHLINS R&T but never 100% sure.
SL951 if i upgrade my coilovers, i could consider selling this to you..

Saw this older post as I’m considering changing PSS9s on my 996TT to either Ohlins R&T or OEM GT2 coilovers. Or other options for that matter.
My objective is to improve low speed compression and rebound damping where small bumps seem harsh. Looking for more supple ride (no pogo sticking) on city streets and bumpy gravel roads...yet still have decent high speed compression/rebound control for smooth backroads. Functionally, this car is used for Seattle streets, freeways, trips to mountains (bike/ski) and fire access roads. No plans to track it, but rallycross (like autox on dirt) has been intent. Ride height is 1” over stock and would prefer to keep this way (if not adding another 1”). Hoping to not have to go with external reservoir dampers.
Any thoughts? Also, anybody with PSS9 or PSS10 experience have any thoughts on comparison to OEM, Ohlins or GT2 coilovers on 996TT?
