Default Carbon interior option?

My car has a carbon fiber "horse shoe" which has been there since i've owned the car, yet there are no other carbon pieces anywhere else in the interior. My build sheet does not list the carbon piece anywhere on the option list.

This weekend I noticed the carbon has de-laminated from the dash to reveal what looks like the standard plastic trim underneath. The carbon piece is very thin and flimsy. Given there is no listing of carbon option on the options list, is it likely that this was added by one of the previous owners?

I've always wondered as I assumed if a car was ordered with carbon, it would be on the dash, console, gearknob etc, and not just on the dash?

The trim parts can be ordered separately. If it was a factory part there would be a part number present. It's likely aftermarket. I've not heard of any of the factory pieces delaminating. It's common to overlay standard parts with the cf as it's really for the look rather than weight savings.

Definitely no part number present. The part is very flimsy looking and I wouldn't like to think Porsche would make their parts to this sort of quality but I have seen CF parts on the 997 cars delaminate?

The factory 996 wood trim and cf trim crack and fall apart if in the sun. I have not held the CF parts in my hand but the wood trim is very thin on top of plastic as you mentioned.
