why use 8 deg shim on wing.
when wash car, water really puddles on the tail. 8 deg will shed water better

Still plays with cars.

Agree with the previous sentiments. The wing (GT2) has no noticeable effect on the street. My GT2 wing is adjustable without shims. On the track I set it to maximum downforce and stability in high speed corners (100 MPH) was improved, I could get on the throttle sooner. On the back straight the extra drag was noticed though and I lost 10KPH top speed! Also observed that the car pushed a little more (high speed turns only) probably because the extra downforce in the rear was not balanced by a corresponding increase in front. I think Motorsports have some front spoilers which can be used to increase the front downforce too. I compromised at about 3 degrees in the end. I can't be sure of the exact angle, it is about halfway between zero and 6 deg. On track with the GT3 I have not noticed a need for more downforce - less torque than the GT2 and power is more linear. I bought the kit from Gert and I will experiment next season. Track is over for the season in my locale (sigh).

Bob, re high speed push due to additional rear downforce. To compensate, lower the front of the car slightly to increase rake and adjust the anti-roll bar to increase front grip. These hints from Harmut Kristen, GT3 Project Director.

Just received wing shims I ordered at my local dealer. Parts are now in regular system and in stock at Porsche's Atlanta Georgia parts depot.
