Default GT-2 GT-3 Undercoating

Greetings,

The GT-3 is devoid of any undercoating as on the Supercup cars and also has no sound deadening and a lighter weight carpet (saves a whopping 6lbs. and I am sure costs Porsche less). My Question: Is the GT-2 built the same way or is it undercoated ect. like the TT?

Best,

Don

Is it worth while to get some rust inhibitor put on (oil based, not the factory thick wax), even for non winter driving?, or fagetaboutit? It can't add that much weight to the car! (I wasn't planning on it, since it comes with a 10 year perforation warranty anyway). Just curious!

Default Rust perforation warranty...

My GT3 Owner's Warranty Manual says the rust perforation warranty is only 4 years...(I assume due to the lack of undercoating)... it's 10 years on the rest of the Carerras..... not sure about the GT2.

My GT2 manual says 10 years for corrosion.

Interesting as my manual also says 4 years for anti-rust coverage on the GT3. Noticed tonight when I took the wheels off to clean it does NOT have any undercoating. Why would the GT2 have more warranty also with no undercoating?

Default I'll speculate that...

I'll speculate that it's a recent change to the warranty manual.... when they added the GT3 specific info. Probably not a real difference in susceptibility to rust between the GT2 and GT3.

So which is correct? 10 years or 4 years?

My book says 10 years corrosion for all models except for the GT3 which is 4 years. It sounds like a model specific thing.
