Default Inner Fender Body Plug Question

I was replacing my battery today and while I was in there I pulled the two plastic side covers off to vacuum and unplug the drains in the cowl area. It was then I noticed my inner fender was missing a plug. When I removed the driver's side front wheel to inspect it I noticed two were missing! They're both circled red.

The one on the left goes to the battery area and the one on the right I believe opens to the gas tank cavity. Should these have plugs or are they supposed to be left open? I checked PET and could find anything.

Default Mercy!

97 views and no answer? I can't get to mine. There has to be someone else who has had the wheels off their car.

Default No plugs

No plug in either hole.

Time to clean up the rubber clag!

Thank you Tom and Gadsby.

I also found this pic of a 997 GT3 without plugs: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-gt2-...heel-well.html

When I cleaned mine a few weeks ago I pulled a little over a pound of clag and gravel bits.
