Default Pirelli PZero Rosso on GT3

Has anyone gotten the Rosso's on their GT3 or does everyone have the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2?

I think the sidewalls on the Michelin PS2 are too soft, and I will probably be switching to the Pirellis when they wear out - Rossos are cheaper too. The PS2s, because of their light weight design have less insulating effect, so tire pressures can increase quite a lot when driving - this must explain the relatively low pressures recommended by Porsche.

Michelin's on mine too. Not enough miles to determine whether I like them. Hopefully someone will experience the Rossos before I need to replace them

Viken: Have you gotten word that the Rossos are now being OEM'd for the standard GT3? I'd heard at Parade that the production Rosso's for the GT3 weren't matching the prototype specs and their approval for use was delayed. Of course it's been several months since Parade so the issue could be resolved by now.

Steve,

I don't have any concrete info but I had heard that the Rosso was supposed to make it on cars as of September production. My car was produced early September and just arrived at port. In a few days, we'll see what tires were installed.

Are these the standard P 0 Rosso I wonder? I have had a set on my Boxster S. I liked them on the street. They were more supple and much quieter than SO2s. I used them on the track and they performed like a good street tire but nothing exceptional. OTOH, the Michelin PS2 N02 tires are the best street tires I have ever tried on a race track. I was expecting something that worked like an SO2 or Conti (squeal, push etc.) and to my surprise I had a good time on them. I was using a 2.5 deg negative camber set up all around which might have helped but I was expecting a let-down after the Pilot Cups. I was wrong. They are not R compounds but they had great stick and little to no squeal.

They are supposed to be a bit different from the previous generations.

Anyone know what tire is on this GT3RS? It looks like a Pirelli but which one?
