Retrofitting a normal carrara spoiler
Hello,
With the launch of the 911R and its dewinged rear. Im just wondering hwo easy would it be to fit a normal C2 boot lid to a GT3?
How do the actuators work, ie it obviously gets a signal from the ecu to pop up at 70mph (or whatever it is) but would it be an easy retrofit or a complete bitch?
I see Gembella have done it to a 6.1-3
http://www.rpmtechnik.co.uk/sales/ve...special-order/
so its clearly doable. Does a normal -3 have the wiring loom in place and send a signal or did they remove that part during manufacture?
Thanks
James

The fan if I recall on my old 99 996c2 fan is located in the near center while my 6gt3 is on the left. The intake side of '99 is on the left while the 6gt3 is on the right. You probably have to drill holes to remount the fan and another hole for air intake with that rubber grommet attached to it. Other thing is the c2 wing does lift up but if not plan to raise it no need to go thru the headache to get it to work. Mike

The 911R is a completely different car which has underbody aero to make up for part of the downforce it looses by not having a rear wing. Intake/airflow issues aside, you would be doing you/your car a disservice in the performance dept.

Why not just buy a regular Carerra if that's what you want...

James, forget the ducktail and go the other way, buy the RS wing...
