996 GT3, Best Tune with, NO Torgue loss?
Not Tracking, want Throttle Response & Of Course some Power, Was thinking FVD Ecu Tune, & Cat delete, But have read that can loose low end torque, Muffler delete I know is good, but seems very loud?
Would like to know what some here have done similar, Thanks

Would not recommend the fvd tune.
My exhaust & tune story, post 11 is tune part.

I went with EVOMSiT in the end and happy with results.

Race Car
Couple of notes.
Tune - No tune by itself should cost you any torque, but by themselves there is not alot to be gained from a tune. The tune should be best matched to whatever exhaust modification you do. Even then, cost benefit of a tune is not great unless you go catless and are worried about check engine lights. Tunes can adjust the throttle mapping to make it more responsive, personally this annoys me but some people love it. If you really want the car to rev more quickly light weight flywheel is the real solution.
Loss of low end torque is going to come through decreased backpressure in the exhaust which will yield higher torque and power numbers in the upper RPM range. So it's a bit of a trade off in what you want.
Exhaust - This is my personal opinion based on a ton of research and experimenting with my own personal setup. None of the "modular" systems where you can replace just the cat section or just the mufflers are going to do much other than change the exhaust note. For alot of people that's plenty and exactly what they want. What really restricts the power on our cars is the small factory exhaust diameter (2.25"), but unless you replace the whole system with a larger diameter system from headers back you're not going to get the power gains that can be had through exhaust.
Systems like Cargraphic R, FVD race, Europipe and Charles D's system all offer larger diameter tubing in the whole system with the option for cats or no cats to boot. Those are the ones that are going to really make big power. Same goes for the guys who go to the 997 GT3 center exit systems, they make power because the diameter of the whole system is larger.

Andy is spot on! Lt Wt flywheel kit is awesome. Exhaust systems should be well thought through. The factory did a pretty good job of tuning the 6-3 out of the box. Our cars are really "momentum cars", not huge HP or torque compared to modern GT3's. The overall package however, all blended together, make this car an incredible driving machine, un-matched in more modern versions, and un-likely to be replicated ever again by Porsche. These truly are the last of the breed...Awesome!!!!

When I took my ex-6GT3 off the track I had FVD retune for better low-end response. Got that plus a 17 rwhp kick. Original dyno was 323 at the wheels. After the tune, 340 with most of the power at peak, but torque came on sooner. I was very satisfied. Also, equipped with Cargraphic mufflers.
