Anyone in Charlotte NC Area with a GT3?
I'm thinking about buying some GT3 seats for my turbo but I'd REALLY like to at least sit in one before I drop the $$ for them.
If there is anyone around the Charlotte area that would be willing to meet somewhere and let me check them out I'd be really appreciative. I can bring beer, a durametric pro cable to play with, pizza, whatever as a "thank you"

MX racer, I have found these seats to be very comfortable on long trips, say over a thouand in two days. I sometimes have put a small folded towel in my lumbar area after hours, but really, they are quite comfortable. It is a bit of a challenge to get in and out of the car, without rubbing or abrading the side leather bolsters. I am 6 foot 2, so it would be a bit easier to enter and egress if the driver is a little shorter. I sort of lever myself out over the bolster when exiting, and crawl in the car to avoid scraping the leather. Once in the car, you aren't going anywhere.
all the best....

Those (pictured above) are the GT2 seats...not the "Euro GT3" (for 996) seats that people mention around here...
These are the "Euro" GT3 Club Sport Comfort (leather) seats:

These are the US GT3 Sport seats that came standard (leather):

Thanks again guys.
I currently have the "sport seats", second pic of the tan seats above. Most interested in the euro GT3 seats as they come up more often and are more affordable, but the GT2 seats nam vet posted above would not get kicked out of the car either.

I just saw this thread - here in the Mt Island Lake area. We HAD the Euro GT3 seats in our car when we bought it, sold them and put the stock Sport Seats back in.
Euro seats are very comfortable...once you get in. But with my wife and I both driving all the time, it's a bit hard since we like the seat back different angles and the Euro ones are fixed seat back. Plus, she always said she can't get in and out of the car gracefully with a skirt...never stopped her (she drives it more than I do) just a comment... :-)
Personally, if you're not tracking the car regularly and it's more a street car, I would suggest not going with the Euro seats.. Ingress/Egress each time can get to be a bit tiresome....just my opinion.
You're welcome to stop by, but sounds like I won't be much help...
So it seems there are a few GT3 owners in the Charlotte area!?! Nice! Maybe we should get a GT3 gathering together one weekend?

Had the distinct pleasure of meeting and spending a good portion of the day with Nam Vet today.
First, as I told him, I want to thank him very much. He not only allowed me to check out the seats, he drove all the way out to me and let me drive the car as well. Then took me to a couple of really cool race shops in the Mooresville area.
I can now say without a doubt that the 997 GT2 seats are in fact very comfortable. We spent 2-3 hours driving in the car and the seats, not to mention the car, were great.
Thanks again and hope to see you again next Wed. for some good Deutsche essen.

I have now had the distinct pleasure of meeting kurtkrum as well. As above I'd first like to thank him for taking the time to let me check out the seats and the car.
I really appreciate it.
For me, the GT3 seats are a little narrower and a little less comfortable for my 6'2" frame vs the GT2 seats. The GT2 seats IMO were more comfortable and the GT3 seats seemed to "wrap" more.
kurtkrum made a good point that when all strapped in the GT3 seats "you won't move", which I "felt" just sitting in them as well. I think I'd also take his advice and look at the GT3 seats for track bias driving and the GT2 seats for street bias driving.
On with the decision I guess.
Thanks again to both of you for the time and it was really a pleasure to meet you both.
Thanks also to naroescape for the info above as well.
