Default MAF Sensor Confusion

I replaced my MAF Sensor in order to see if I could smooth out a hesitation in power delivery, expecially when taking off from a standstill. I looked on Pelican and Suncoast, both sell part number 986-606-125-01 for a 996 GT3. In looking for a less expensive alternative, I found that the Bosch website recommends part number 0280218009 for a N/A 996 all variants which is what I bought on Amazon for around $200.

Here is where it got interesting. The Bosch sensor actually has a 996.XX part number stamped on it (can't remember which one) and the part I took off the car had a different 996.XX part number stamped on it.

I installed the Bosch sensor and it seems to be working fine and did indeed smooth it out a bit. My question is: if this is not the right sensor would it cause any issues or is this a case where it either works or doesn't.

Any guidance would be appreciated, as well as maybe posting the proper current OEM part number and perhaps the Bosch equivalent for future reference. I searched a bit but didn't find much specifically related to GT3's.

Typically, if you type in the part number into the search bar, it'll sometimes pull up parts that fit that part number that aren't searchable through the front side of the catalog. With inputting 986-606-125-01 into the search I get these results HERE. It brings up the part number 0-280-218-055 Bosch. When searching 0-280-218-009, it shows up as NLA, but our system shows as only fitting GT2, Turbo, Carrera, Carrera 4, Boxster, and Boxster S.
