Can a 3.8 liter meager fit into the 996 gt3. I may have something in store and am really curious before I make a move. Also can the 996 gt3 transmission bolt right up to the 3.8?

Physically the blocks haven't really changed. So yes, it'll fit just fine and bolt up to the transmission just fine.

The differences that are going to be difficult to overcome are engine management , variocam plus and other upgrades that the 3.8 had. If I had to guess id say you will need the full engine harness and ECU at minimum from the 3.8 to make it work.
