2000 GT3 Mk1 - RHD Steering Rack
The steering rack on my RHD GT3 Mk1 is leaking and the local Porsche dealer has recommended it be replaced at an exorbitant price, apparently Porsche will not service or exchange these racks.
I was informed that the part I require is 996.347.012.10, however when examining the PET it would appear that a number of racks from 996.347.012.05, 07 to 08 are also listed.
As 996.347.012.08 Boxster S racks are readily available from the breaker, is there any issue using this series and what differences (if any) is there between each serial number?
