Talking Deal is done so it's time for a proper introduction

I finally pulled the trigger after many many months of indecision over which car was going to be my first Porsche (996GT3, 993, 964, 996TT, 7.1GT3, etc.) I've come full circle back to the 996 GT3. And I'm very excited So is my wife and family and friends... mostly because they won't have to hear "what do you think of this one..." anymore.

2005 GT3 black on black, full leather + carbon package, deviated red stitching and belts, 16k miles (26000 kms), local Vancouver Canada 2-owner car. Fresh fluids, clutch, water pump/t-stat/hoses, engine mounts, and pinned coolant lines all taken care of while the dealer had the engine out fixing an oil leak in the sump/manifold area. Wheels are currently getting repainted back to OEM silver and having AD08Rs mounted. Other things to be done are toe links with proper alignment, front spoiler, and possibly a diff and seats.

Many RLers have provided much advice either directly through PMs or post responses or indirectly through archived content - so Thank You for your help and making this forum a great - possibly too addictive - resource.

On to some pics:

Thanks - I'll wave if I see another one out there. Very excited to get out to local events especially weekend drives and local tracks (autocross first and then the Ridge/Mission/PIR )

Congrats and great choice!! Love my 6GT3 and every time I think about selling I cannot imagine what I would replace it with. Also, this is so true...

Oh yeah. After they say "congrats" comes a long sigh of relief

I wish I got to daily it! The wife drives it and makes me ride my bike to work.

Can't wait to get on the track. The STi is fast and floaty on track - much more at home on autocross.

Also... your wing and center exit exhaust look rad. Cup bumper?

And More Congratulations! Great looking car - enjoy!! Welcome to the '05 996 GT3 Club (get used to explaining that when you order parts - the snotty chick from Weathertech told me there is no such car.)

Ha. Discount tire had the same issue.... "is that a Carrera?"

I've not had the pleasure of the M3 or the GTI. The performance + utility per dollar of the STI was impossible to beat in MY11. Now the Golf R and Focus RS would probably be my top choice. Dislike the Camry+Evo look of the new STI.

lol my wife cant handle riding in GT3 or STi...gives her headaches. thinking about upgrading mine as its an 02 bug eye, although very clean low miles but getting on. Golf R has come into the equation, as well as a '12 STi, we'll see.

Correct it is cup bumper on mine which was fitted by previous owner. Also agree that the wheels look much better on yours in silver.
