GT3 at Mecum Monterey Auction
There's an atlas grey in Mecum's auction this week(end). I ran the vin and it appears to be a car that CNC has or had. I think it has 50k+ miles so the price range listed by Mecum of $80 to $95k appears to be quite optimistic. Where do you guys think it'll hammer at? Here's the link to the car below, https://www.mecum.com/lot-detail/CA0...Coupe/6-Speed/.

So $71.5k with 10% buyer premium. I think that's really good for a 50k+ mi car.
65K. Still not bad considering mileage and it's stock.

Last Laugh
996 GT3's may have the last laugh. Numbers are small enough to keep it up on the collector's list. In the first 10 years, many were just tracked to death so the numbers are even less. It's real car with only ABS between you and the real cars of '70's. And the Mezger engine is likely to be seen as the holy grail of all engine configurations. Forget the headlights. The 964 Turbo's are off the charts and they look like a melted hippie candle.

Undeniably the best drivers car I've owned except for my '67 coupe where you need to be 100% involved to get the most out of the experience. That is a great car and what driving should be all about.
This one has 2,900 and change (miles).

Badass Tom! These cars are incredible! Best car I've ever owned. Best driving experience I've ever had.
I did own a 67 S when I was 20, and as I recall, it was a hoot, but I wasn't as Porsche centric as I am today, so the memory of that car has faded, sadly. I had that car when Calif still required a smog certificate. What a PIA that was. De tuning the webers to get it passed, then retuning the 2.0 S motor was a holy challenge! When that car was finally set and screaming on cam though....Holy Crap was it amazing. Wish I still had it!

I owned the ex-Bruce Jennings '67 911-S for a while. It had 46mm Webers and a factory (Kardex proven) "short" box. Fast as heck to around 115+/- and the show was over as it hit redline. The 2.0 liter engine is a hoot if you don't mind rowing gears and keeping the revs up. This one had you grabbing the next gear before you had time to enjoy the one you were in.
