Guys - the pics in this thread are from my car. I am taking these and running them at CMP this weekend (that track is hard on brakes/tires). Then I also have events in mid-June and July. In all about 8 track days.
After that I will send wear pics and talk about my experiences.

Thanks Gents...glad to help.
One of our primary goals with this product was to provide an available and sustainable long-term disc solution. That is a weakness that we've seen in the market among competitors. We bought a LOT of discs from AP Racing. That means reasonable replacement iron pricing, and we'll have the iron rings on the shelf when you need them in a pinch...no waiting six months!
The bobbins and spring clips can be reused. The bolts, nuts, and washer should be replaced at each iron ring change. Our hardware kits are $25 per disc, so very inexpensive (I need to update our site, but our Porsche discs use either the 10-bolt or 12-bolt depending on size).
kurtkrum,
Thanks again for letting us measure your car. It's a beauty and we really appreciate it! I'm sure you're going to love your new discs.
amazing pricing on the replacement rings!
Does the mounting hardware need to be replaced when changing rings?

Happy Monday folks...I wanted to share a few pics that I received over the weekend. These are from a customer who is running his car hard at Road America, a track that is notoriously tough on brakes. He has had premature cracking with some of the competing discs on the market, so he's looking forward to the benefits our heavy duty design will provide. It should be interesting to see how much longer the AP J Hooks last vs. what he has tried in the past.

I just want to thank Clark from Apex Performance and Jeff from Essex for the great service, quick shipping, and wealth of information shared in this thread. I am very much looking forward to switching over to these AP Racing J hook rotors and installed them over the weekend. The pics Jeff posted are my 996GT3 with the new AP Racing rotors, and PFC 0991.08.17.44 - 66mm sweep area pads. No problems with pad to hat clearance on the AP discs, and the quality in engineering, hardware, and design is exceptional.
Looking forward to testing these AP J hook rotors out at Road America and hoping for much better longevity and less time spent on jack stands in my garage changing out brake rotors and installing new rotor rings.

Four two day events cutting the last session of the second day out due to travel time and another few sessions out last year due to coolant fitting failure (now I'm welded up properly). This equates to 27 heat cycles (25-30 minute sessions). Rotors were initially bedded/heat cycled properly per instructions, and I run cup car front brake ducts. Caliper color is unchanged like some cars I have seen with dark red/maroon colored calipers from overheating.
I know Road America is brutal on brakes.

Just got these rear rotors in from Clark @ Apex. Figured that it is time to retire the PCCB as I feel it is starting to wear (a couple of spots of rough spots, although overall still very smooth most of the area). So maybe I will put the PCCB back when the car no longer sees track duty.

I have a feeling that these will last a long time in our 996s.. our cars are relatively easy on the rear brakes (no PSM!). Still planning on running the cheap Cayenne rotors up front.. !
