Default 996 GT3 with 997 front

Everyone's too polite to shred a guy's For Sale ad. But it's fair game in here, right?

Front bumper mods:

RS bumper - of course
Cup bumper - sure
Stock bumper with hacksaw mods/pop rivets/tape - yes
997 GT3 bumper - wrong

Cup rear bumper and exhaust? Stays

But that front? Nooo

Its sacrilegious to do it to a GT3 IMO. Maybe a clapped out 996 C2 that's been wrecked in the front yes.

If it's been done well it's pretty nice but I wouldn't mess with success : ). The car is great the way it is!!! Mike

The flares on those fenders make it look like you could fit quite a bit of rubber under the front of the car...but they didn't so the front tires don't fill up the wheel wells at all, while the rears do.

Most importantly the fit of everything on the front of the car is pretty bad. Look at the hood gaps as it goes up the fenders and how it's not level towards the windshield.

Look close at the pictures why is the passenger rear soo much lower than the rest of the car???

PSS 10 coilovers? That's absolutely not an upgrade from stock...why put those on there instead of rebuilding / re-valving the stock stuff?

Rotors look nice, not sure what they are. "Oversized Calipers"....errr stock ones you mean. Look like they are nicely refinished and clean though.

**trying to be objective**

LED tails...jury's out for me on these. They add add a modern touch but look out of place to me on a 996. However that was a 997 thing so maybe that's where they were going with that?

I ran reports on it...they are clean, no accidents on carfax or autocheck but no updates since 5/14 and 29k miles either.

Nice options...lots of leather and deviated stitching. 997 exhaust is nice as is cup rear bumper. RS wing looks nice not sure who's it is. Put the stock front end back on the car and it'd be worth more in my opinion, ugly headlights or not.

To each their own.. If I wanted a 997, I would have bought one. It's not like we really saved any money by buying 996 anyway.

Audi: the rotors are Brembo Motorsport Type III.

I for one like the 996 front end, it looks very attractive from some angles. For me, the 997 front doesn't look right on the 996, regardless of how good the workmanship and products used are.

Agreed, as the years roll on, I find the lines on the 6-3 look better and better. I would never consider messing with that!

I don't like it. Looks better with 996 front.

I really wanted some LED tail-lights until I saw that car...they look terrible. Now, are those the Dectane ones? Who knows?

I told him to add the following:
  • Itemized list of modifications with makes and models as well as the date and mileage mod was installed
  • Itemized list of maintenance items (with dates and mileage)

I just think it is insanity to try to think you can sell a car like this...to a bunch of enthusiasts....without that very basic information.

And yeah, I'd want to know who, what, when, and where all of the body work was done...why was it done? Car been in accident? Why PSS10s?

yeah..........

I saw this car in La Canada this morning. Not bad. I'm just curious to see the fender mount bolts inside the trunk area.

Definitely liked the cup rear bumper and center exhaust. The 997 front end just looks weird to me on a 996 body. It didn't look cheap however, and the owner installed other high-end products, like the HRE wheels and Recaro seats.

I would have just put an RS front bumper with a Toth splitter and made it perfect.

To each his own. I wonder why he is selling
