Default Question about getting HP out of the GT2

I do not own a GT2 or a porsche for that matter. I do however own an S2000. Could you give me some insight on this post:
http://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthrea...hreadid=145892

Is it true that with these mods:
All it took was Stage IV GIAC programming, a very open and very loud exhaust, k&n airfilter and bailey diverter valves.
You would expect 600+ crank HP? I don't know much about the GT2 so I'm looking for some of you guys to help me out with some tech!
Thanks.
Erik

This is absolutely true (I just got my exhaust and will be sending my ECU out to GIAC next week - strictly you need headers to get the full HP...) - check here http://www.evoms.com/porsche%20ec%20art.htm - click 996TT/GT2 then tuning systems 1-5

Yes - the GT2 and X50 TT have K24 turbos good for up to 600HP. THe regular 996TT has K16 which are only good to about 550HP...

510 sounds about right for a stage IV...

My stage IV GT (slightly more power) dynoed at 540 rwhp with the loud version of the exhaust, and only dropped 7 hp with the quiet version. This was running on a 95 octane blend.

Which exhaust did you end up going with?

I didn't think you were lying. I was just hoping to get some info on reliablity and what not. I knew the standard 996 TT couldn't be made to run that much HP on the stock turbos.

what kind of fuel are your running? 92? 93? 94? 94+?

Well, it is a stock turbo. There are two different sizes, depending on which option you choose from the factory. The X50 option gives you the larger turbos on a (non GT2) 996TT. The larger turbos are one of the reasons that the 996TT (w/X50) won the recent 0-100-0 shoot out in one of the major auto mags.
