Top End GT3 rebuild cost
what can one expect to pay for a top end rebuild on an 04' GT3 with 50K miles?
What else should we consider doing while the motor is out of the car? Main Bearings?

He was nice enough to let me take it for a test drive, and to be honest the engine felt as strong as my 6rs with 4k miles on it!

A good friend of mine is looking at getting into a track car. Found an 04' gt3'with 50k miles. I don't know much about maintenance cost on cars with water! Just those with air.
Trying to get him some potential maintenance costs. The 993 cup is about $10k/ 100 hours plus a little $ to freshen up the trans
Tks for any help here

The cup engine even in the GT3 has a completely different maintenance cycle than the street car. I wouldn't do a refresh without doing a leakdown test to show it's needed.
I could be wrong, but I thought I recalled a thread discussing GT3 rebuilds starting at $8000 just for the parts.

I have seen one car that had 100k and still used for street and track without problems. I have mine dyno checked once in awhile just to make sure no power loss, so far it just seems to be getting stronger at 40k.

I had partial rebuild with roger at orbit. Great honest guy. One of the rare guys that will talk you out of mods if they don't make sense
I agree though. Get leakdown. And dyno. Doubt you need a rebuild yet.

these engines are pretty stout. Before you spend the $, do compression, leak down, dyno, and get the oil analyzed.
I've heard ~10k for top end. That's dropping engine, pulling heads, new guides and cleaning everything up, replacing worn parts. Bottom end is more, of course. Best bet is to talk to a shop like Orbit and get their advice.
