Default Value of Stock 6Gt3 Wheels

I have a set of stock 996 GT3 wheels in average to decent condition and they are true and straight. I just received an offer from a fellow Rennlister of $1,000 which seems low to me, but as I am the seller, what else would I say? :-)

Anyway, I've searched Rennlist, 6 Speedonline, Ebay and everywhere else to find a fair value, but not much luck.

I haven't advertised them here yet and would prefer to just get rid of them as he's buying some other stuff from me, but also don't want to be more stupid than normally am in how I sell things.

Please let me know your thoughts on the value.

Good question as I too have a set with new street tires on them no less. Good luck.

^^ Agree. Note that they are attractive to the 993 guys for their cars. Advertise on that forum and you'll likely get them sold quick.

Are these good wheels to track? Comparing to say the OZ Alleg's they are 26 pounds heavier all around, unsprung weight. I offered $1k figuring I could track either those or the set on my car now, and refinish the other set to as new and use them on the street. Thoughts. TIA guys

BTW, what is considered rare in GT3 wheels?

The fronts of the GT3 wheels will not fit a 993 unless they are the Turbo offset & sized fronts.

^rears don't fit either without sizable spacers...GT2 wheels do though
(above in reference to WB 993 models)

alleg is too narrow for track
if you really want track wheels, you want 9" and 12"

that's rare but E88 is better with alum center. magnesium E28 needs more attention and more inspection

They are heavy, but strong. Look good and stand up to abuse. You should see the set I run on track.

They are rare because 6gt3 are rare. People like oem.

Correct on the spacers. However the GT2 wheels won't fit a 993, not even a WB. The GT3 & GT2 front wheels are the same size & offset and the rears at 12" are just too wide.

$1800 - $2200 is a realistic price range.

GT2 specs will fit the WB 993 models, but need to be more particular on alignment, a few guys run them...I do know they fit 930's as well, from experience.

OP, could try marketing them to 996 Carrera owners, nice upgrade for them

Stay tuned!

I have interest in buying a set with good street tires on them.
