thank you for the explanation!
yes, so maybe hearing some more intake with the 2nd mic at the rear...
love the 6rs.
the prices in the u.k. have gone mental recently - from a five year steady 60k pounds to 120k - 150k pounds in less than a year....or is that just jonas being optimistic?
the last one advertised here was at least a year ago at $180k or thereabouts. that has been the going-rate for a while.

6rs have also clearly surpassed the pricing of 997.1 RS ..and for a while the gap to 997.2 RS also narrowed significantly...however, 997.2 RS have shot up as well now to maintain the usual £40k gap.

Don't forget that most people that bought 6rs back in the days, used them for what they are design to do. A low mile 6rs is super rare compared to a 4.0! The typical gt3 and especially RS buyer has changed over the last 10 years! Out of 670 produced 6rs I would say 95% has seen track.

thanks for sharing the pics, ade!
yes, indeed your car is a monster - have read all the magazine features it's been in.
i can appreciate how much of a labour of love project your rs would be.
certainly a huge commitment. well done and keep enjoying!

Three Wheelin'
Ade that car is sick! (means super cool) love the pic of 4 RS's in a row and the small image of your car dancing on the edge of adhesion with the front wheel coming off the ground.
How much weight savings by going with Cup doors?

Race Car
Enjoy your last 996 GT3 RS.
Is there a kind of register for these cars?

Personally I prefer the yellow calipers on either a blue or red car.
I am not aware of a register...?

That may be the case on 'paper', however when physically with the car the yellow calipers actually add a good accent (imho). I suppose there is also the placebo effect of knowing it is the more upgraded option...even if most PCCBs have been dropped for steel in most cars.

Or more seriously, Porsche marketing department may be very good to convince buyers.
A friend of mine owns #1763, which a "red" car with PCCB (originally). It is a very nice machine.
I would still prefer a "blue" car, which reminds me the very first Porsche in which I have had a ride (on a track!), a RS 2.7.

You may be right about the placebo effect

...then I saw a few blues, and woke up one morning really wanting a blue!
...now I much much prefer a blue one.
Blue was also the rarer colour (30% blue vs 70% red out of the 113 RHD examples)...as I guess red was the launch colour.
But then like other colours which were bolder and therefore rarer to spec new - viper green/signal green 997.1 RS, Aqua Blue 997.2 RS, etc - they become more exclusive and cherished later in life.
The blue 996 RS is generally the more sought after now.
Go figure.

Happy to oblige.
Not sure where you live in the UK, but I hope to be at Merc Benz PH Sunday Service in it this weekend...
...then trying to see if I can make the logic work to take it to Silverstone on Nov 23 or Dec 13 as well as the 996 GT3
Insurance cover and weather likely to be the hold ups...

yeah I read and drooled over all the mag features too at the time! all credit must go to the one and only previous keeper Tim who bought the car new and then over a few years developed it with Parr MS. then with tim at the wheel the RS competed in TimeAttack UK & PCGB Sprint series, I saw it compete a few times with a couple of class winning times. I bought the car at Easter this year as you see it now. My only mods so far have been my own geometry settings and a very wide Longacre rear view race mirror which is ESSENTIAL for trackdays at the Ring :thumbup
