Default New to me 996.2 GT3

Just picked up my first 996 GT3 last weekend. Coming from the land of ///M cars so I am sure I have plenty still to learn.

Two track days (Thill) coming up in the middle/end of October... time to learn about rear engine driving dynamics!

Congrats on the car! I recognise the car, know the previous owner.

BTW, I also own an M3 and can tell you it drives very differently... you'll find out.

Thanks guys... eager to get her on track!
Thill Oct 20 and 28! 20th is the 5 mile course 28th is the original 3 mile.

I have had multiple M3's of every body style except the E30, even an E39 M5 in there somewhere.

First track days at Thill wasn't by accident, lots of runoff should it be needed (plan to start slow and build so hopefully won't need it!).

Ah yes! It was good to meet you. The drive was as uneventful as it could have been driving through windy sections with wheels on the roof! That and dodging a few "excited" passerby's.

Logical progression from an M. I too had them all except for the E30. Like the roof rack. Is that a custom roof box on top of Thule uprights? Make sure your diff works before you hit the track. Hopefully it was rebuilt somewhere along the way.

Car has had the cooling pipes welded, diff has guards friction plates, RS flywheel, etc...
Those are OEM rails with a harbor freight "trailer" bolted to them. So it is a semi custom job...

It's not bad, but not perfect either.
Looks to be functional which is #1 to me and it looks good. You have to get really close (and stick your head under the wing) to see some of the ragged edges on the underside where the mounts are for example.
