So, any other options out there? Other than Cargraphic and Getty?!

Hi Folks,

I am interested in knowing about the failures and if the failure modes are well enough understood to check for them...

Thanks

Ray

Hybrid setup.

I spoke to the Cargraphic people, and they sell the whole unit only (include the uprights and the wing blade). So the whole thing has to be shipped from oversea.

I don't know how they compare to each other. I think 911SLOW (John) had the Cargraphic setup before he sold it to a fellow Rennlister.. Maybe they can comment on the Cargraphic quality.

Cargraphic lid is very nice, perfect fit on my car, when installed. Build quality is very good as well. Email or PM for pics & pricing.

My understanding is that the Porsche cup wing provides an excellent balance between downforce and drag, especially for lower powered cars like the 6GT3.

I'm looking at a CF cup wing attached to the stock GT3 deck using custom CF standards which include provision for multiple adjustments of AOA. The custom standards are plenty tall to improve the effectiveness of the wing and avoid blocking rear vision.

I'll post more info soon.

If someone wants more rear downforce, this is the ideal solution: Crawford give more downforce than cup (street RS wing does not come close); taller Crawford uprights help with the aero and provide better rear visibility; Cargraphic, or other "hybrid" deck lid (cup top\street bottom) is the way to go as it fits right on to our cars (no need for latch pins, and fan still used), yet allows to mount a cup/Crawford wing.

I have a similar setup and love it. Our cars need all the wing they can get, and a cup splitter in front is plenty to balance it out, but... YMMV.

IP, how much for your kit?

Hi All,

I have a Grand-AM wing installed...

Downside - minor fitment issues with air-box and deck lid fan. Work-arounds - don't use the fan or get a smaller one, remove the front airbox cover, use a different air intake system.

WRT hot air in the intake path - a lot of air is flowing throughout the engine compartment - not sure if the air from under the car dominates the air from the deck id...

Dave - you are welcome to check out the installation...

The wing and uprights I’m looking at will be custom fabricated in CF by a shop that specializes in custom work and has also supported Alex Job. I’m sure the Crawford wing is good, but I’ll be using a Cup wing based on the recommendations from a trusted source.

To keep it simple, I like being able to use the stock deck.

Ray – thanks for reminding me, I definitely want to check out your car. I’ll contact you offline.

Cargraphic hybrid deck lid bolts right ups and fits perfect, matches with air-box and the fan mounts as intended.

Issues depend on which lid is used, the Cargraphic one works as cup on the outside and stock on the inside. Easy peasy, no custom issues to worry about.
