I plan to do the labor myself.
I have one in my 04 GT3 and the 05 is the same. Easy to replace yourself in about 1 hour. Make sure you charge your battery to 12.6 v when you replace your alternator. I posted some tips in another thread for removal.

I would check the voltage drops before ruling the alternator faulty. My C2 had a bad ground and did not charge adequately. Voltage drop should not be more than 0.2-0.3v to ground. Test by using your VOM between the negative terminal of the battery and the alt frame. New ground cable solved everything once diagnosed.
