Default hoosier R6 question: 255/35 too wide for 8.5" wheel?

has anyone tried the 255/35 hoosier R6 on 18x8.5" wide wheel (stock front wheel size 996 GT3)?

i know the R6's run wider than most... took a few pictures, looks really bulged out over the rim, am i going to be okay?

or should i swap them out for 245/40 on the 8.5" front wheel?

According to Tire Rack, you should be OK: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....=yes&tab=Specs

It will work but not sure it's any better in a road course section vs the 245 when mounted on 8.5 wheel. For auto-x its absolutely better.

The 255 is actually a 275 section width labled as 255.

thank you guys for chiming in.

great point about auto x vs road course. i am using the car on road course.
and yes i saw even on hoosier website the size is within min spec on 8.5" wide wheel.

if it's going to work... safely... wont hurt anything, maybe i just give it a try?? cost diff is negligible
