Not sure there is a time-out mileage but if the GT1 WP is similar to the regular 996-7 installed WP the impellers are the issue and the rec mileage is before 50K (good write up/explanation in Excellence a few months back).

But I did mine when I fixed the fittings along the hoses and the fuel filter (and the other stuff mentioned above: all as rec by threads here, actually). Cheap insurance and amortized cost () when/while the engine is out...

If anyone paid for coolant line fitting welding or pinning file a complaint with NHTSA. Still so many uninformed drivers. I met 3 this weekend that were clueless but paid for a repair.

It looks like my hoses just split and doesn't look it it was due toe the cooler line fitting failure. Should I still file a complaint?

What brand coolant hose to replace with? A silicon or OEM?

Exact same thing happened to me yesterday at TWS. I put Water Wetter in on Thursday. There was no evidence of any leak other than temp light and then low coolant level warning.

The DP (Daytona Prototype) engine I saw has silicone hoses.

Doesn't look like its for Mezger engine, looks like regular 996.

Full set of hoses would probably be a lot more than $40.

Hi,

I am with a law firm that is looking into reports of catastrophic coolant leakage in Porsche 911s, similar to what you have been discussing. If you have experienced this issue or are interested in the investigation, please feel free to email me at emo@girardgibbs.com, or give me a call at (866) 981-4800. You can also visit our website http://www.girardgibbs.com/porsche91...investigation/.

Thanks,
Ellen

There was no drama as I didn't even realize all my coolant was gone until the temp light came up and the check coolant msg showed up.

The weird thing is I didn't even get black flagged and I didn't have any car following me so there was luckily no drama. It was a really hot day 105f so maybe all the coolant just evaporated. Love the car and was really getting into a groove but will try again after getting the issue fixed.

Also it looks like the tear was from the big hose on the right side of the engine compartment but not sure if there were other broken hoses. I am contemplating just dropping the engine and getting all the hoses replaced, welded, and pinned.

What else should I do if I am going to drop the engine? Bummed but thankful that no one was affected by this including myself.
I also picked up a GT3 several weeks ago and the same hose blew this weekend on the track. Tear on the large hose on the right. Fortunately I cought it right away.

you can only file a complaint with NHTSA if the fitting failed. Not an old hose cracking.
