Default 02 GT2 with detailed undercarriage. Good or Bad ?

Curious about opinions if detailing the undercarriage was a good or bad thing to do. It took me literally weeks to do this. I am kind of happy with the clean of sticky Cosmoline wax look. Too much detailing done (since I have decided to sell)? Should I re-apply the Cosmoline or leave it clean?

Salute, Tom

Wish mine was that clean Dreading the cleaning I will have to do...
I'd say any potential buyer(unless planning to winter drive it) would be happy to see how nice the car is underneath and has less to 'hide' under the cosmoline....leave it in the beautiful state it's in now IMHO

Do you have any before and after shots?

If you can document the procedure I dont see any problem with it.

FWIW, I wish mine were that clean underneath!

Great looking GT2. I like the detailed look, it just makes it harder to drive knowing that you will have to put all that effort into it again. GLWS.

I bought my TT from a concour fanatic. The undercarriage was spit shined and polished to perfection. It was a big plus for me and said a lot about how the car was taken care of. I'm about a 3k miles per year guy and have found that I can detail the under carriage in less then two hours. This is due to all the labor the PO put into the cosmoline removal and attention to detail. I'd say it's an added value that many GT2 buyers would love.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Good to know that all the tooth brushes I wore out have not been waisted
Noticed that sanyata's car undercarriage has some grey undercoating applied to the floor pan?

Here is a pic taken at the beginning of my "vacation" that was spent under the car. Everything was covered with super sticky wax coating. What I have to say though -that Cosmoline stuff really protects the parts very well from the environment. For So Cal though, it's just a nuisance

His is a TT, the Turbo's/TT's got a full factory undercoating, GT2/GT3 did not get that skim layer of sound deadening/rust proofing.

What do you use to remove the cosmoline? What desolves this stuff?

The only stuff that worked for me without damage to the painted surfaces was bug & tar remover. It does soften the cosmoline enough so you can start brushing & wiping
