Default Good price for a 02 GT2?

Hey guys, longtime member, first time post. Any opinions on the market for 996 GT2. Found this one at CEC in Century City, would like to pick the brains of you pros, really love the Carrera White. http://www.cecwheels.com/vehicles-fo...sche-911-gt2-1

Beautiful.

Like my car but half the miles and more Carbon. White painted back seats (if factory) are extremely rare. That GMG rollbar is a nice touch, too.

Honestly, their price isn't too unreasonable and a white 996 GT2 goes up for sale about 1x a year...

The white color in the website photos has a strange tint to it.

Yes, I like Carrara White.

Yeah right; like you are naive enough to base your personal decision on the pedantic opinions of a few know-it-all forum trollers.
If you buy it, please post pics of it sitting your driveway!

Awesome looking GT2.

Personally not a fan of carbon bits, and bought mine based on it's 'plainness', but otherwise looks great! Have you seen the car is person? Just ask because the pictures are heavily photoshopped or likewise 'doctored'.
As price reference mine was a very nice car, $69k with 50k kms(~30k miles), bought last week.
Hope you go for it, '6 GT2's are such awesome cars!!
Cheers,

Cheers,
Totally. They put a bunch of HDR like filters on it. Car needs to be seen in person for sure.

If you aren't local to the car, I'd be more than happy to look at it for you. I have a keen eye for paintwork.

I put 18,000 miles on my '03 and never had a problem. I paid $193K+/- and sold it to a friend for $85K ('12) and he has simply parked it for a year now. I will buy it back...

Check the LSD...

If I may ask, how are you going to use this car? The clutch is extremely stiff, you will hear a lot of tire noise inside, you will hear every body/interior squeak, as fas as DE or tracking the GT2 there are better cars.... Just wondering.... yeah it is a GT2, but...

Funny enough, mine has zero squeeks/rattles-I'm a picky/mechanical OCD guy and had many cars which annoyed me with such issues but the GT2 doesn't have any (yet?)
Love the heavy clutch, mine is particular has an aftermarket un-sprung clutch which I haven't determined which brand yet, but chatters, need a Sachs Motorsports version instead, will probably be talking to Kevin at some point for that plus a datalogger/maybe a tune(believe mine has a EVOMS setup)
Disagree about better trackcars...what besides a non-legal car(Cup car, RS-Spyder ,etc)is 'better'?

OK 993GT!...Enjoy your car! Sorry, I don't know you, and not sure how long you have been driving your GT2, but sounds like the car meets your expectations.

My comments were around the fact that a car that has less sound deadening will be louder than one without. A car that has a stiff body with a cage will squeak more than one without. A car with a stiff suspension will transmit more shock than....

I had both the 996 GT2 and the 966TT(DD) at the same time, and now the 997 GT2 and the 997TT(DD) and been driving them everyday since 2001 so I was trying to be helpful....

Wasn't trying to instigate anything here, just commenting that some here have talked about squeaks/rattles in their 996's, mine doesn't-perhaps isolated issues??
Factory N/A GT2's don't come/offer with cages, and that is likely a source of squeaks like any car with one...a stiff chassis with a cage will squeak less than a chassis with poor rigidity and a identical cage
'Stiff' suspension is a loose term, a well-tuned but 'stiff' spring/damper package delivers less shock/peak loading than a poorly-tuned 'soft' package.
I was offering a difference of opinion, not arguing your points...
Cheers,

CEC maintains their cars meticulously and by the pics it looks like the car has a bunch of options. The price seems about right. Claus (owner of CEC) is definitely reliable.

What is going on with the poor join between the front bumper and the lower front edge of the driver's side front fender. Something doesn't look right.

/thread hijack

It's rare to find anyone who can make such a direct comparison!! OK so, having personally gone from a 996TT --> 996GT2 and seeing the differences... how would you describe the difference on track for the 997GT2? It's probably the only car I'd be willing to get rid of my .6GT2 for. Prices have been holding fast the last year or so from what I can tell, though.
