Default Remote Lock Issues

For whatever reason my key fob remote lock/unlock seems to have lost significant sensitivity, almost as if the battery was exhausted.

I have gone through two sets of batteries (just incase one lot was a bad one) and both key fobs work poorly.

Sometimes I can unlock the car at 30' and others I can't get it to work even when the fob is right next to the car's windows (doesn't matter which window, I have tried all different positions).

In rare instances I am forced to unlock the door with the key.

Any ideas why this is happening?

Thanks.

Have u tried putting key fob underneath your chin and press key fob. Maybe the switch thingie is getting old. The other pair of keys is same thing? Mike

Marv,

Is your car battery fully charged? A little drop in current will cause your issue.

Daily driver, so the battery is always charged.

Both key fobs appear to be the same and the spare has very little use.

I do not know where the receiver is located in the car, but maybe there is an issue with its antenna or the antenna connection.

It just seems weird that I can unlock it at a distance sometimes and others it will not work even when you are right up against the car.
