Default 996 GT2 rear spoiler blade removal

Hi, after some tips on removing the spoiler blade and also adjusting the angle?

Looked on PET and the cover on the upright is held on with a screw, but how do you access this? It looks like its in the upright? Once this is off can the angle be checked adjusted?

Anyone done this?

If you are talking about the painted cover on the inside of the upright, it pulls off. The bolt that lets you adjust the pivot is behind the cover. The 4 and 8 degree shims fit on top of the upright. Be careful that you don't drop that bolt down into the upright! It's not easy to retrieve. Ask me how I know...

PET shows a screw that needs to be removed, is this incorrect?

So I've had a fresh look at this today, there is a 4mm allen screw that is located inside the black plastic air duct that screws up into the metal bracket assembly, this screw passes through the external upright finisher.

If you try and simply pull this piece off you will break it, once this screw has been removed the piece pops off. So if anyone is going to do this please make sure you remove the screw first. 2nd picture shows the hole the screw passes through.

Once this piece is removed it's pretty straight forward, the fork is held fast by a 18mm bolt and angled washer, and the small allen bolts that attach the fork to the blade are 5mm allen type, loctite has been used on the threads, so if you remove this don't forget to re-apply.

I am still not sure how you access that screw to remove the cover? Must the engine lid be opened or closed to access this?

The screw is accessed inside the black plastic air duct with the engine lid shut. It's set about an inch back on the top of the duct.

Top tip, put a rag or similar down the vent just incase you drop the screw, makes retrieving it easier.

VERY IMPORTANT

make sure that the engine cover is open when you actually lift the blade off, the manual states possible bodywork damage can be caused if you don't have it open.
