Default HANS advice

I am hesitant to run harnesses without a HANS device. What is the recommendation for the most comfortably least cumbersome HANS model? Anyone have any experience with the Necksgen? Looks like a good product in some cases superior to the Hans. I'm not racing btw, just DEs and lapping days about 15 times each year or so... Thx...

I bet you would get more response by posting at the "Racing" forum here at the Rennlist. (So you don't limit your audience to just GT3 owners)

I use a HANS 20M Extra with sliding tether for fixed post style anchors.

I think it really depends on what you are doing in DE.I do a lot of instructing and am often in cars without harnesses.I wound up buying the Rage 3 made by Safety Solutions. It doesn't require harnesses but works fine with them.Apparently it is supposed to have a bit more lateral deceleration protection than the Hans ,which, fortunately I haven't tested out so far!
I don't believe you will find anything in a head and neck restraint system that is going to be super user friendly and allow unrestrained movement ,that's pretty much what they do ,restrain movement!
In any case there are plenty of threads probably more so in the racing forum. You really want one of these systems, whatever you choose, and please PM if you want more info! Cheers HOM

If you have a Harness you should w/o a doubt have a HANS.. You'll get used to wearing it.

Soooo Much safer.

I agree.

There is a good value clubman HANS device made by Stand21, who make most of Porsche's factory race safety gear from what I understand. When on track you cant even tell you have it on too.

Even the HANS Sport with clips is pretty slick and good value. Just picked it up for my DE setup.

I've been running a HANS Sport I w/ sliding tethers, post anchors for a few years, I personally have no desire for the cf version (other than it being cool). I would recommend the Sport II, which has replaced my model. Most people driving sedans use size M Model 20. I wouldn't bother with the adjustable version unless you run sedan and formula cars. I also wouldn't bother with the quick click anchors.

Hans Pro with Carbon Fiber. Forget about the cool, it is significantly lighter than the other models.

Yes cf is lighter...however, you've got shoulder straps pushing down against your shoulders...so, I can't see how you'd feel much difference. If you're not concerned about money, then sure, go for the cf version. A lighter weight helmet, on the other hand, is definitely noticeable.
