Default Charging issues...

The battery is brand new. Should I replace the whole alternator, have it rebuilt, or just replace the voltage regulator? Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.

Is it not charging at all? I would start with the voltage regulator. I had the same issue on my old 996TT, replaced the voltage regulator, and it was good to go. I don't remember if there is a way to diagnose alternator vs. voltage regulator but it might be covered in another post if you search here or 6speed. Also, regulator is so much cheaper than alternator.

I recently had a regulator issue and found that I could have the unit alternator rebuilt including a new regulator and warrenty for a little more than just replacing the regulator and no warrenty. I removed the alternator and took it to the shop for rebuild got it back the same day and installed problem solved cheap.

+1

Probably regulator got my Alt. rebuilt on local shop for less than $100. Easy to remove and install.

Thanks for the info guys, dropped it off at my service shop and having the voltage regulator and brushes replaced. I usually do everything myself just don't have time these days...
