6GT3 vs 7GT3 weight
Where is the additional 200 lbs of the 7GT3 coming from? Chassis? More sound insultation? More amenities? A combination of all?

If 7.1 non rs it does have heavy sunroof but 7 does have aluminum hood and doors. Definitely not 200 lb difference. Mike

I was being approximate. It's actually 185 based on published curb weights.

I'm sorry but your number is still wrong.
In real life the difference was little more than the following official published weights.
Best

There might be some weight penalty but IMHO, it's get a penalty system to begin with. And the "sport" mode is NOT for driving in a sporting manner. The only place I can imagine SPORT mode working is on the newly paved Daytona oval. But any bump, nook, or cranny and that PITA system goes nuts and you feel the violent jolt in your spine.

The added comforts and safety items (active and passive) increased the weight, but bear in mind that the 7 got a -30 pounds head start from the 6, just from the lighter aluminium doors and front lid..
Dell you are absolutely right about the SPORT.

I thought the difference in weight was about 100-150 lbs stock vs stock. NJ-GT has an old thread with actual car weights that shows this.
