Is this correct tunnel location as per Cup install?

^ The yellow car is installation I refered to earlier, the sub-belt eyebolts are too far towards the rear.

I have seen 997 cup cars with welded brackets for the sub-belt points, but I don't recall how the 996 cups did it.

The sheet metal upfront is weak. Wouldn't recommend putting eyebolt any further. Single sheet metal not good double sheet metal better. Mike

From what I saw, most tunnel bolts were positioned about an inch further back (towards rear of car) than where they are shown on the yellow GMG car. As for the subs, this is still up for grabs. My current (old) set-up uses a BK sub bar, and this passed PCA tech when I got my logbook last year, so I didn't look at that aspect so much as I snooped around. I know the rules say the harnesses cannot be mounted to the seat or rails, so I'll likely change to some form of tub mounted bracket. Since the season is over for me, I have till spring to figure that one out. The eyes way back under the seat frame seem like too far a stretch, and I use a 5-point harness, so maybe one strong mount more forward would be fine.

Mike, thanks for confirming status of the floor. For the sub-belts I was thinking about welding a large plate to the floor/seat area and attaching the sub-belts to the new plate. Still need to work out details.

Ken, you may want to reconsider 5 point belts. This topic has been discussed in the DE & Racing forum and Schroth's importer agrees that 6 point are superior, especially if you want to avoid damaging your *********. Just saying.
