Also forget the cup cables, massive noise induction into cabin, you'll soon swap back

Is the Suncoast link a 997.1 or 997.2 shifter?

Thanks. Unfortunately I bought and installed the shifter from suncoast last year! Is there any way of telling without completely removing it? If I recall correctly, the part number is on the bottom unfortunately.

Edit: Looking at some pics I took during install, there is a sticker on the top-front-left with a part number. I can barely make it out, is this right: 997 424 010 91 A 500

I have grown accustomed to the additional whine. My wife says it sounds like a race car.

I second that (e)motion (including a 997.2 shifter, no B&M or short shifts)

The whine from the transmission is amplified and transmitted to the cabin. The cup cables eliminate all the soft bits that isolate noise/vibration.

It's ok. It feels different, definitely requires more effort to engage, but it didn't solve the issue I was after. I think it may be the **** that gives it the "flimsy plastic" feel. I have the RS ****, dunno if that's any different to non-RS.
