2004, 18,000 mile GT3 street legal track car with $40/K in improvements for $63,000 - tempting if true.

I bought a 2005 6GT3 w 16K miles, w $30K of all the right track mods, for $50K last July.....car was cosmetically 9.5/very nice.... just saying.....if the miles are mostly track miles, that price is too high! Track miles are like 2 to 4 x's street miles, IMHO.
Just tryin' to help.

way too high.
also, what are the mods. there are only a few GT3 that i know of which "really" have $30-40k worth in mods. a lot of mods are just money used poorly.

I be happy with a fairly stock 6gt3 with euro seats and half rollcage stock suspension and the rest all spare sets of wheels/tires pads and rotors if that defined 40k in mods. Mike

I don't think that's too bad depending on the mods. It's darn expensive to set one up properly for the track with the proper stuff in it. It does limit the resale market though, not a lot of people looking to buy cars modified for the track....

Too many unknowns. That might be a steal or it might be the opposite - depends on who owned it, how it was driving, and on what the $40k was spent.
I know of a couple cars that fit this basic description that are worth $50k, and I know of a couple that sold for $65k and were a deal at that price.

Yep. I've spoken to John about his Yellow car. Seems like a nice car, but no build history and I'm pretty sure it's still running stock diff and coolant fittings haven't been taken care off. Still a good car that put up some fast times.
Doug above also has a very nice White car - probably at the top of the price range for these, but somebody with a deep pocket really didn't hold back on the build. Plus it's the best color - white!

Thank you for the input. Going to stay away. it was a low mileage street car about a 1 1/2 yr ago converted to a track car. The "wrench" who did a lot of the mods is a friend so the report would be accurate but not worth paying $10/K or so too much. Don't know all the mods but do know it's got seats, bar belts, remotes. Owner is moving to a cup car to DE. (And it's not white).

Good, clean, stock, low mile cars are still trading in the low to mid 50's. I've heard of a couple recent ones in the high 40's for rougher examples.
Mods are mostly up to the buyer as to what they're really worth. If that car has all the good stuff it could very well be worth the $62 price tag to the buyer who intends to track it but as others have stated that's right about the top of the market these days.

If this is the car @ the shop we both know it isn't worth that.. Justin had me drive it last week and let him know what I thought it was worth. Although it has nice mods, drove OK, etc.. It's missing a lot.. such as cleanliness, interior pieces parts. Seats were mismatched. This one also was converted to Center Lug...? 1 set of wheels 2nd set will cost you $5k.. I told them it's worth ~$50-$53 as is..
