Anybody tried EBC pads?
Just curious. They have some track compounds but I've never seen anyone running them. That might be a clue but I have to ask. I've had great luck running ATE rotors at $200 a set. Shipped. Sometimes you don't always get what you pay for

Here's some options from Hawk:

They're better pads (70's) are a little more than half the price of the PF and pagid. Question is do they last and will they fade? I ran my PF's almost down to the backing plate this weekend after 6 days and they felt pretty good.

I ran DTC-60's front and back last year and they are a great value for the money. Initial bite is crazy when they come up to temp and they are a little more difficult to modulate than say a PFC 01 but I ran them on very warm days and never had any heat issues.
They actually suit my braking style and for the money I will run them again this year

I'm going back to PFC-06s in the front. I prefer the endurance pad for longevity over the 01. Only a little difference in stopping. Got my last set of PFC-06 fronts for under $330 shipped. Pretty happy about that! How much are the EBC/Hawk options?

Looks like hawks have gone up a little but I paid around $475 for the whole set last summer.
Tire rack had the fronts on sale for like $215 at the time. No clue why they don't carry the rears though. Had to get them through OG racing

P.S. My brother had EBC yellows for his M3. They have no torque at all. They won't overheat but what good is that if they won't stop. They literally felt like they were glazed from the very start no matter what we did to try to make them better. I see they've released an even more aggressive pad but I'm not going to be trying them

Hawks work OK in my experience BUT they dont last very long. DTC 70's lasted 2.5 track days on the Boss and they were down to the backing plates. Lasted a little longer on the M3 but tapered badly. Cobalt XR2's have over 8 track days on the 6GT3 and still a lot of pad left.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I get a year (12 or so events) out of a set of 06 pads. Same with the ATE rotors. What kind of pads are you guys running? And what tacks are you guys at? I've around 8 days on my 01s now and might be able to go another vent or 2.

I've run PF 08 and 06's. Great pads. They feel outstanding and work the same as new down to the backing plate. Which is about 6 days at Sebring. At $750ish a set, that's $200ish bucks a weekend in pads. I hate doing that math
Peter: I wonder the hawks wore out so quickly due the weight and size of the brakes on the mustang. Heavy car combined with smallish brakes probably over work them in a big way.
I've never heard of cobalt pads? Where do you get them and what is their pricing like?

Funny, an instructor once told me that "friends don't let friends run EBC".
As far as Hawks, I know lots of people run them and are happy. I never had Hawks on my GT3, but I ran HT-10s then HT-14s on my old Audi. Didn't like them. I switched around for a few years until I tried Raybestos ST-41, which I think are the best pads I've ever had. I wouldn't run Hawk Blue, they are too abrasive - people use them to remove pad deposits!
