Feeler/FS: FVD Racing Exhaust
Hi
I have a FVD Racing Exhaust for sale:
- It will fit 996 GT3 MK2. Direct to the OEM manifold.
- It's brand new, only used for a short drive
- 200 racecats
- arround 113 db
New Price is arround 3200 USD (the homepage form FVD is down at the moment).
It's exactly this exhaust. Check it out for the sound:
I would love to drive that on my GT3, but sadly it's too loud for all the racetracks here in my area.
Would sell it for 2000 USD. Shipping worldwide is possible. I think this price is fair, isn't it?
Original Pictures will follow in the next few days.

If that was the version with 'small' muffler (RES 996 252 60SS) I'd buy it in a heart beat!

BTW:
The Rally Porsche is useing exactly this exhaust. With small muffler and racecats. Here you can see it on the car. The only different is, that he have also some other manifolds:

I asked FVD about this system and they said 103dB with OEM headers. Here's a screen grab of page. Also check out post number #15 on this link https://rennlist.com/forums/996-gt2-...d-exhaust.html Are these much louder than that video?

Talked with M&M Exhaust Germany. The produce the exhaust for FVD. They told me, this exhaust ist arround 113 db. There must be something wrong, i think it's much louder then 103 db. Or can you FVD ask again about that point?
My Milltek is 107 db and I think this FVD is louder then the Milltek. But I didn't made any db measurement.
It's sounds very nice. Only problem, here in Europe you have 98 db noise limit. There is no way to drive with a exhaust like that. And I only use my car for track racing. This exhaust is drivable on the street. It sounds "high pinched".

I love that sound but it is totally insane for the road. If I had that kind of exhaust, I would survive maximum 5' before having half the police force after me

I mentioned this in another thread but it's worth mentioning again. I drove a car that had a custom made version of this exact setup when I was shopping for my GT3. Only difference was the setup I drove had no cats and used burns racing mufflers but the same configuration with an x-pipe then small muffler then directly out.
I was in heaven listening to the sounds the car made. It's pure sex for the ears and exactly how thse cars should sound if you ask me.
HOWEVER, after a 20 min drive it was pretty clear that it would probably grow old pretty quickly on the street. Suprisingly it was not that bad during light throttle application however it was LOUD LOUD when heavy on the throttle. This individual also had a 996 cup car and I think the cup was slightly quieter than the street car.
If my car was mostly a track car and ran at tracks with no sound limits there is no doubt this is the system I would have.

RSRS, did you get any more info on exactly what system it is, part number?

And it's 113db? Have you actually measured this? Do you have any pictures of the actual system you are selling?

M&M Exhaust told me, it's 113 db. M&M produce the system for FVD. I don't know, FVD told me these days also, this system is "only" 103 db. But I don't believe that. It's louder then the Milltek (107 db).
I will have the system here in the next few days. Then I can post some pictures (it is exactly the RES 996 252 60SS).
I don't have any measurement.
