anything already done to it?

Based on everyone's results here I"d say LWFW and re-gear of tranny. Those are near the top of my list but I don't have any first hand experience, my car is stock other than suspension.

What's your tollerance for NVH? Gutting the interior pulls enough weight out of it to increase performance plus it's free.

My vote would be coaching.

I'm not convinced stripping is actually that helpful. Look at the times ukrbmw is turning with FULL interior.

Hands down regeared tranny. in fact I would do that right after rear toe links before Motons. IMHO YMMV

He already has everything but the shocks on his suspension, and a Guards LSD. So something in the powertrain, gears, or good shocks will have to be it.

Tom - I'm happy to coach you

$6k Budget

1) $2k (includes shipping, labor and alignment)
- remove shocks, send to bilstein for rebuild / revalve
- spring rate (f,r - 700,900 range)
- springs, helpers, rear spring hat

2) LSD rebuild with Guard Internals (includes labor) - $1.5K

3) 8/32nds or 9/32nds R&P - $2.5k

Winter project, work with your shop to have a spot for your car when the shocks are getting sent out and returned. Do it as a package deal. Best to do the R&P when you are doing the LSD.

^ How does it ride on the street with a revalve? I don't even like driving on the street on stock suspension- wouldnt it be too stiff unless it's trailered. With Motons u can dial for street and track but to get a new set it'll be more then 6k unless u find a used set. I would probably do regear and get use to it since gear selection will change then do suspension later. OP- have u maxed out the potential of 6gt3 stock- if not I put all 6k into coaching. U probably shave off 5 seconds off your best laptimes and be consistent too. No other mods to car will even come close in shaving laptimes. Mike

Default Great Ideas so far!!!

Thanks so much everybody for your ideas .The car does have 700/900 sprig rate and revalve and it does have the full Guards LSD .
For whoever wondered about ride on street i find the 700/900 setup just fine. The only time it attracts attention is on the dirt road I live on.So it seems that alot of folks are suggesting transmission stuff regearing primarily what about just changing the final drive to a lower overall rate?cheers HOM and Alex we can coach EACHOTHER anytime!!!!

You should give Matt of Guard a call with respect to r/p(he has a nifty one) and gear sets. I have a 4.0 copans r/p and yes it feels great esp tite tracks(3rd gear almost pulls like 2nd gear) but in hindsite I shoulda done the gear sets- less accelerated wear I believe. Mike

And 1st gear pretty useless- gets too redline real quick with shorter r/p. Top speed will be affected- I think mine tops out at 178 vs 190. Mike
