Default Video: 321 km/h

Always wanted to do this. Woke up at the crack of dawn and at sunrise i floored it all the way a couple of times. Incredible how stable the car feels at these speeds and all felt extremely solid. It even felt as if it had 5 or 10 km more (no sign of a limiter) It's a rush that will stay with me for while.
And of course . . . . . I drove this on a track of the German Autobahn so it's aloud. How cool is that. Enjoy

Awesome Ivo, this is something I've always wanted to do but for one reason or another only managed to reach around 175mph.
Really cool that you can do this legally.

easily.. a stock GT3 can do 320+ all day long.
even the mk1 could..

But Porsche wouldn't /couldn't promote that.. you see they had the turbo to protect

Ivo, you r crazy mate or/and too young.

Wearing a helmet, on public roads; I dig it. Interesting how the ambient temp increased 2.5* there at the end.

At 1:12 the car in the right lane would have come over to the left if you were in the US

Nice video

I've never had mine up to top speed, but will try at Daytona in Oct if I have the *****.

At 1:12 the car in the right lane would have come over to the left if you were in the US
He's already be in the left lane for the last 30 minutes.....
In the more jealous countries (NL, B) they pretend to come over, or actually do if they are suicidal ;-)

Choose the helmet also for the HANS device i was wearing. Yes it might be a bit insane looking at it on a video, but i can assure you my car felt so completely in balance cruising at these speeds. And of course i see much further than where this camera has it's focus point. Decided on PS2 (Y speedindex) instead of MPSC. Was afraid the semi's were too stiff with the risk of bouncing too much over bumps. Kept the pressure at 2.3 / 2.7 cold. Don't no much about the aerodynamic characteristics of this car, but it seemed that the downforce was really working well. Must admit i planned to put two brand new front Cup rotors in the trunk, that i was planning on replacing that afternoon. Guess that extra weight in front, might also have helped stabilizing it a bit. I am thinking about changing my final gearing for next season so if i wanted to do the Vmax run, this was the time. It also shows how 6th is not really worth having it this way, if you see me shifting from 5th to 6th at 280 km/h

Thanks for posting. Very cool video. I really wish we had better drivers and places where there were no speed limits here (besides the racetrack). I'm also curious how (in)accurate the speedo is at these speeds. Compared to my data logger, the speedo is off by a fair amount, even when using oem PS2 tires. According to the chart in the GT3 manual, ~7500 rpm in 6th gear is around 300km/h. You'd need to be around 8000rpm to be ~320km/h. A data logger would confirm.

Cheers,
