I heard the surface there got more abrasive recently and is very rough on tires. How are yours holding up? Noticing any unusual wear? I'm going next month, curious if that was true.

Who said that? Sure, it's abrasive on tires if you overdrive the car. It never ceases to amaze me the excuses guys fling when they fail to master CMP, overdrive the car, and then complain their tires are wearing to quick. It's a TRUE drivers track that takes some serious skill to get right. If you have that skill and are smooth, you won't have any tire issues. Ok, off my soapbox.

CMP is a pretty fun track. I was there for the first time in June for an Integra Type R meet with my son. Had a blast!

In my only trip there, I found that it is pretty tough on tires. My son has been there several times and also notes that.

Saying CMP is tough on tires (and brakes of course) is like saying Sebring is tough on gearboxes. It's part of the character of the track and you adapt to drive it well. I'd rather go through some extra tread than a gearbox but I'd still drive those tracks any chance I get.

Videos to come later. Just walked in the door and I'm whooped

The rose petals are in short supply these days. I will be (at the very least) picking up a track car before the next event. To navigate the waters of grabbing another 3, I would probably have to sell the CAB and the Turbo, replace with a Turbo CAB for the wife and then I can get the 3. Why oh why did I take the red pill..................

We all had a fantastic time this past weekend! I was there Friday for a Turn1 event, and then of course Sat and Sun, so I got my fill. My NT01s had ~45 HCs on them, and were pretty close to slicks as well, so getting the confidence to push them took me until Sat after a little coaching from Dell.

Dell did in fact drive my GT3, and was hanging it out; I think he liked it, even in my mostly stock setup; I’ll post the video later.

For now, here is my best lap; about a tick slower than March’s. I’m still working on quite a few things.

Nice driving - smooth as. What camera/telemetry setup is that?

Mike
