Look at it this way: you didn't miss any track time due to an expensive off.

What you describe sounds like MAF or vacuum leak. Good Luck

I had the butterfly stick wide open once and the car wouldn't start. That is easy to check yourself. I flipped it closed and never had the problem again. ( 6 years ago)

Car was idling nicely when stumble set in. I'd rule out the throttle plates stuck open.

Good info to know though. Thanks.

As far as I know... Everyone fills up there with no issues whatsoever.
I was also at Calabogie, and on Friday Munfords ran out of 94 gas, so some cars were filled with the very bottom of their tank. When I went for gas, the tanker just arrived and they started filling my containers at the same time the tanker started filling their holding tank. Made me a bit nervous thinking I was getting all the crap gas at the very bottom of their tank, but on I went. Next day, I put 25 litres into my car (from empty to just over half a tank) and ran the enduro with the gas in the afternoon. After about 30 mins of normal operation, I started to notice that the car could not rev to 8000. it would start to struggle and run rough at about 6000 and not quite get to 7000 but no higher Came off the track, let the car cool, and tried again, but with the same results. I'm thinking it is sh*tty gas, but not sure what to do. I've filled the tank up with good gas, and now I'm at Tremblant hoping this resolves itself somehow when I get on the track tomorrow. After hearing your story, I think it's more than coincidence, especially if you filled up Friday morning when they were draining the bottom of their tank. Curious to hear your prognosis.

Interesting info Steve!

Fellow Rennlister Coochas is also having related engine woes. His car won't rev up and presently thinks he has a bad MAF. He ended up fueling up in Renfrew, as Mumford was out of fuel altogether.

What time did you fill up at or when did the tanker show up on Friday?
I fueled at 6:30am.

Dealer got back to me...
Gas is clean.

Fuel pump hose is split as per other threads have documented !

Looks like we continue to find that we have a known weakness in this fuel pump hose.

Anyone have access to the pricing of a new fuel pump pn 996 620 057 92 before I get HOSED by dealer?
They won't do the SAAB hosing solution.

However, if you can take it out, just replace the hose..

Good luck.

I fueled at 6:30am.
FWIW I filled up around 1:00. Drove 2 sessions today before the rains came. When I first went out, it wouldn"t rev above 7000 and started struggling around 6000 just like at Calabogie. By the end of the session, it would rev to 7000 but wouldn't make it to 8000. By the end of the second session it would rev to redline no problem. I have to believe it was a gas issue, but seems to be resolved since all the bad gas has been burned. Anyways, hope you get your sorted out quickly and painlessly.

Another documented fuel pump hose failure !
Got the car back and all is fixed.
Fuel pump failure... the little hose that has caused issues to others in the past is the culprit again.
Shelled out the cost for the whole pump assembly instead of the less expensive fix replacing only little hose from SAAB.

Here is the picture for my pump/hose issue...

Would you be kind enough to documet it the replacement? And can you post a link to where you bought the Gates hose? I think this would be hugely helpful.
