Default Engine coolant fan failure warning light

I keep getting this warning light (big red warning on tachometer) intermittantly and when I come in, the engine fan seems to be working properly.

Anyone had this issue? Please reply to:

thanks

Rick

This has happened to me one time a few weeks ago. Went away and has yet to return...

When you came in, was your engine compartment fan running? Mine is running every time, so I think it's some sort of sensor. Big PITA as you really can't ignore it.

I would think its a sensor failure. Your engine bay should be getting plenty of flow and not overheat while you are on track....

Engine compartment temperature sensor, engine coolant level low, engine compartment fan faulty, coolant temperature sensor faulty.

It happened when I was in the paddock with the car off. I think the fan was running yes. One time only....

Thanks guys...we just haven't been able to isolate where the problem is...I'm agreeing that it's either the fan or a sensor failure.

Bump this up to see if anyone has seen this and knows what resolved it. I started to get this warning light after 5-6 laps of every session. Engine temp gauge never moves from where it always sits. Coolant level is completely fine. As soon as I back off the light goes away. Come in the pits after a cool down lap and the fan is NOT running but as aways the fan starts runnning a couple minutes later after parking it.

Really weird.
