Lightbulb Gold Crest Motorsports Coolant Fitting Repair + More!

First off, a HUGE thanks to Gold Crest Motorsports in Kennasaw GA! (link) Here are their Coolant Repair Fitting Pictures (link). Steve Cosgrove (link) was my contact and he was always patient and very helpful with all of my questions and lists of items that I wanted to add to the project, more often than not, at the last minute.

Here's the big stuff:
  • Coolant fitting repair (link)
  • New front bumper with RS vents*** (previous lower grill screens installed)
  • Repair/rebuild LSD; with PMNA 8-plate 996 Cup clutch packs
  • Install IPD plenum & 997 Throttle Body (link)
  • Reinstall water + water wetter
  • Install 996 GT3 RS Crank Pulley (996 102 017 95) with Washer (999 025 174 02) and Bolt (993 102 550 80)
  • Alignment & corner balance

*** Hat tip to Dell for the heads up. This is actually a standard 996 Carerra 'Aero' bumper for thousands less than the factory GT3 or RS bumper, yet it still meets my needs. (Sunoast link)

A few pictures of what is visible

Previous clutch packs

Other small stuff done:
  • Misc hoses, o-rings,clamps replaced
  • new coolant tank installed
  • new fuel filter
GMG exhaust bracket repaired (broken weld) (link) Hat tip to SoCanDan!

Still do to:
  • get front clip re-clear bra'd
  • clean up existing bumper plugs and install
  • DRIVE!

Nice coolant repair. The way the factory should have done it.

Saw the car this morning. Looks amazing! The work to make the vents is flawless. Was surprised to find that the Carrera AERO bumper was over $2K cheaper than the GT3 bumper and the same! Nice savings to put toward the other items.

Was advised by the shop that is wasn't truly necessary for my needs so I skipped it, and kept it simple; was told the hot air will still escape.

Thom, GC quotes $1500 for the whole package; motor drop, disassembly, weld, and reassembly (link), and for me, a 1 week turn around time.

Sweet. I'm curious how much power is there in the 997 GT3 throttle body upgrade!

Looks great and peace of mind on the coolant fittings when on track.

Did the 996 Carerra 'Aero' bumper come with the three line vents or did you put those in with screen?

Are the coolant fitting stock, just cleaned and welded?

Thanks,

Joe

Bumper came plain; openings were cut and screen installed.
