Default Hawk Race Pads

A friend of mine with a GT3 is looking for track pads. Asked me about Hawk offerings. I searched here and found basically nothing.

I realize that PFC 06's or 01's are basically the default, but I see hawk makes it's trusty old HT-10 compound as well as their newer DTC-60 compound pads for the GT3.

Anyone out there with experience with these pads? I used HT-10's and later DTC-60's on my M3 for the last 5 years and have no complaints but not an apples to apples comparison either.

HT-10s are not a good choice for these cars. They are hard on rotors, aren't that great after half the pad is worn, and the hotter they get the worse they perform. The initial bite with the HT10s is abrupt and prone to trigger ABS.

DTC-60s are a better choice than the HT10s. They are a little bit better on rotors, withstand heat a little bit better, but they do still only get about 50% wear and then they are done. Their initial bite is still a big hit and that is why a lot of people like them. This also makes them not a good pad for trailbraking in a rear engine car. They release as abrupt as they apply so it will make the car tail happy with trailbraking.

My opinion on pads is the PFCs are the best. One reason is because they sponsor us but also because they are a pad that I can put on any car and get the same results as I can with my racecar. That can't be said for the Hawks and some other companies out there. The Pagids would be my second choice for this car as I have had good luck running those on my car and driving some cup cars with Pagids.

Pagid and PFC, can't really go wrong either way.

Pagid Yellow front (19/29) and RS-14 Black rears is a pretty popular set up right now.

I use Hawk DTC-60 on front DTC 70 on rear... I very happy with the overall performance and longevity of the pad.
